Amazon Go's cashless and checkout-free shopping works by leveraging technology and user information. When a customer enters the store, they scan their Amazon Go app. As they shop, sensors and computer vision technology track the items they pick up and add them to a virtual cart. If a customer puts an item back, it's removed from their virtual cart.
