A company determines the mark-up in Cost-Plus Pricing by first calculating all the costs associated with producing a product or service. This includes both direct costs like materials and labor, and indirect costs like overhead. Once the total cost is determined, the company then adds a percentage (the mark-up) on top of the total cost to determine the selling price. The mark-up percentage is often determined based on industry standards, desired profit margins, and market conditions.
