The person-in-charge in a Scrum project, often referred to as the Scrum Master, plays a crucial role. They act as a facilitator for the team and the product owner. Rather than manage the team, the Scrum Master works to assist both the team and product owner in the following ways: remove obstacles that are impeding the team's progress, help the team become self-organizing and self-sufficient, protect the team from outside distractions, ensure that the Scrum practices are being followed, and help the team follow the agreed-upon rules for daily scrums.
